On the way home he passed by three guys his age. As soo ans he walked past them they followed him. "Hey, Masaki! You're out late." one of them called to him. Masaki stayed quiet and kept walking. "We're talking to you!" one said and pulled the back of his shirt causing him to lose his balance and fall backwards to the ground.
"Long time no see, eh Masaki?"
He looked up at them. "Yeah ... two whole days. It's been so long." he replied sarcastically
"You still havent learnt to keep your mouth shut, huh?" one of them said and kicked him violently in the ribs.
Masaki yelled out in pain as the other's joined in the beating.

A while later Masaki limped the rest of the way to his house. Once he got there he headed for the closest place to sleep, the couch.

The next morning, although there wasn't school Arai was at Masaki's place. He banged on the door, "Hey! Just because it's the weekend don't think you can slack off!" he yelled.
